About the new airport
Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport sits at Badgerys Creek, around 50 km west of the Sydney CBD. Named after Australian aviation pioneer Nancy-Bird Walton, it is Sydney's second major airport and the first new major airport built in Australia in decades.
Planned for many years, the site was confirmed by the Australian Government, and construction began in 2018 with major earthworks, followed by the runway, terminal and the new M12 Motorway link. The airport is built to operate 24 hours a day with no night curfew — a big change for early-morning and late-night travellers in Western Sydney.

From Northern Beaches
Wakehurst Parkway or Mona Vale Road to the M2/NorthConnex corridor, then M7 and M12. The longest run, so we always quote the motorway option first.

M8/M5 South-West Motorway west to the M7, then the M12. Avoids Parramatta Road and Hume Highway lights.
