How Sydney Silver Taxi Cabs handles your information when you book, pay or browse this website.

Who we are

Sydney Silver Taxi Cabs is a Point to Point Transport Service provider accredited under the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2014 (NSW) and regulated by Transport for NSW and the Point to Point Transport Commissioner. We operate a booking and dispatch service for taxis, maxi taxis, wheelchair-accessible vehicles and chauffeur cars across Greater Sydney, the Illawarra and the Central Coast.

What we collect

When you make a booking we collect your name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, pickup time, flight number and flight status where relevant, passenger count, vehicle type, and any notes you add (such as a child’s age for a baby seat). We use these only to arrange, confirm and record your trip.

Phone calls to 1300 512 424 may be recorded for safety, quality and dispute-resolution purposes, as permitted under the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW).

Booking records and retention

As an accredited booking service provider we are required by the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2014 and the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Regulation 2017 to keep records of each booking — including passenger name and contact details, pickup and drop-off addresses, vehicle and driver assigned, fare and payment method — for the period required by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and NSW point to point rules (ordinarily a minimum of five years, or seven years for NDIS-related trips). These records are held securely and accessed only for dispatch, safety, fare reconciliation and lawful authority requests.

CCTV and in-vehicle security camera footage is recorded in regulated vehicles for the safety of passengers and drivers and is retained in line with Transport for NSW requirements. Footage is not made public and is only reviewed for an incident or a lawful request.

Payments

Online card payments are processed by Stripe in line with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). We never see or store your full card number. Stripe receives the payment amount, your booking reference and the email address you enter for your receipt.

Cabcharge transactions are processed through Cabcharge payment terminals under Cabcharge’s own privacy and security arrangements. Where you pay Cabcharge, we record only that a Cabcharge payment was taken and the authorised fare — never your Cabcharge card number.

Corporate and account clients receive itemised monthly invoicing limited to trip date, route, fare and account reference.

Website measurement and advertising

We use Google Ads conversion measurement to understand which searches and ads lead to bookings and phone calls. This may set cookies in your browser and shares with Google that a booking, payment or call tap happened, along with the value of a paid booking. It is used for measurement and to improve our advertising. We do not send Google your name, phone number or address.

How Google uses this data is described at business.safety.google/privacy.

Your cookie choices

Visitors in Europe, the UK, Switzerland and Canada are asked to accept or decline measurement cookies before they are used (Google Consent Mode v2). You can change your mind at any time.

Accessing and deleting your information

You can ask to access, correct or request deletion of your personal information at any time. Please note that some booking records must be retained for the period required under NSW point to point and NDIS rules, even after a request to delete, and CCTV footage is held for the Transport for NSW retention period. We will delete or de-identify everything we are not legally required to keep as soon as reasonably practicable.

To make a request, or to raise a privacy concern, call 1300 512 424 or email bookings@sydneysilvertaxicabs.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and no later than 30 days.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the NSW Privacy Commissioner via the Information and Privacy Commission (ipc.nsw.gov.au) or, for a transport-related matter, the Point to Point Transport Commissioner (pointtopoint.nsw.gov.au).
